Hello and Welcome to my page! I'm a Guyanese-American born Senior Cosmetologist with 19+ years of professional experience representing the DMV.  I've acquired skilled knowledge ranging from Children's Hair, Natural Hair Care and Styling, Women's Short Hair Cutting, Wedding Hair and Hair Loss Care. My career started in 2003 at Dudley Q's Beauty School in Washington DC and I honed my skills for 10 years at Avatar Salon and Wellness Spa in Silver Spring MD, from 2004 to 2014. During my time there, I had the opportunity to work on the likes of former Secretary Of State Condoleezza Rice, former 7th Ward DC Councilwoman Yvette Alexander, Author & Screenwriter Monda Webb and Actress & Playwright Nia Orms. I'm certified in a series of hair care products lines such as Aveda, Paul Mitchell, Avlon, Pravana, Olaplex and Wella. I have a passion for not only showcasing my artistry in photography, fashion shows and competitions but in education as well. Since 2006, I've participated numerous times as a guest judge for Thomas Edison School of Technology's Cosmetology students, competing for finalist positions in the National SkillsUSA. Along with coworkers from Avatar, I got my first opportunity as a guest speaker and platform artist for the NCNW Conference at Howard University in 2005 and in 2018 I was finally blessed with opportunity to start my teaching career as a Cosmetology Instructor at Montgomery Beauty School in Silver Spring. Alongside operating a home hair care service, Debonaire Hair & Kids VIP Services, I also independently teach the business of child client hair care through live classes taught to fellow professionals, launched a photography company and have begun the process of opening my own cosmetology school hoping to offer courses in Cosmetology, Barbering, Nail Artistry, Massage Therapy, Spa Esthetics, Make Up Artistry, Photography and Small Business Management. In the meantime, I continue to study, take advance teaching courses, network with fellow professionals, develop classes and CEU courses to challenge and inspire longevity in this industry.
